What we are

Who, but we

control our destiny?

Who, among us

Can truly betray our trust?

Surely if we don't open up

We ourselves will be the only ones

The only people who can cause us hurt

Are the people we see in the mirror

The question I have today is

Should we cause ourselves pain?

Should we, as people, let others in?

If we know they shall hurt us

I think we should

Because while people cause us pain

Others will bring us peace

And until we get hurt, we may live there
